Interior

Here are my interior modifications.

Sparco Racer Steering Wheel

I chose this steering wheel because I liked the size of it, plus I wanted a suede wheel for grip. The racer also comes with horn buttons which alot of the other wheels do not. I am a little concerned that this wheel blocks the view of my gauges a bit, but I will know more after I drive with it a bit.

MOMO Steering Wheel Hub

MOMO makes a nice adapter that allows MOMO and Sparco wheels to attach to the factory column.

Sparco Pro 2000 Seat

A nice seat for the money. The Pro 2000 fits me well. I am pretty big (6'3") so I needed a nice seat. I had Brian at RaceCraft make me a mount for the seat.

RaceCraft Custom Seat Back Brace

Brian at RaceCraft made me a nice Seat Back brace, which by the way, is required in both SCCA and BMW CCA racing. I am going to add some padding to it where it meets the seat. I just pushes up against the back of the seat, it is NOT mounted to it.

RaceCraft Custom Seat Mount

Again, RaceCraft made me a nice seat mount that the Sparco Sliders bolt to, so as to give me some adjustability. I was not too keen on the idea of sliders, but they are double locking and coupled with the seat back brace should not pose a problem.

Sparco Sprint Seat

I got a Sparco Sprint seat for the passenger side. This seat won't get used as much as the driver's side so it was a good place to save a little money. I also chose to go with the Sparco Seat mount that uses the OEM seat mounts.

Simpson Window Net

Again, required by rules in both SCCA and BMW CCA.

RaceCraft Window Net Mount

A nice Window Net mount that uses a Seat Belt buckle to fasten the net in place. The bottom can be disconnected via some alligator clips.

Schroth 6 Point Camlock Belts

Not the cheapest belts, but they are very nice. The camlock system is a breeze to use. As far as mounting goes here is how I mounted them. The shoulder straps were wrap mounted to the rollbar. The sub strap went straight down to two eyelets that are mounted through the floor pan. The lap belts are also mounted to two eyelets about 4 inches behind the seat. For a backing plate on the eyelets I used a 4" x 12" piece of steel as one large backing plate. I got this idea from Gustave's site.

Here are the parts I used.
